My very first cast iron was a pizza pan. It seemed less scary to buy a pizza pan I wouldn’t feel required to use, yet I loved it so much I bought another within a week.
I use these as my cookie sheets. I used to use stainless steel cookie sheets lined with parchment paper (to make them non-stick.) When I first tried using my cast iron pans I was pleased by how much easier it was to use and how the cookies had a nicer bottom.
These days I also make oven fries and hash browns on my pizza pans. I pre-bake mini-pizza crusts to freeze for the kids’ lunches. Sometimes I even bake pizza with them.
